This page will show you how to connect to a new Teamspeak server.
If you do not have Teamspeak, proceed to the Teamspeak download page and be sure to download the TeamSpeak 2 Client for Windows that is 5.59 MB in size.
1) When you first open up Teamspeak, this is the window that you will see. Click on Connection menu item then click Connect.
2) Initially, the window won't look like it does below. You first have to right click on Servers and go to Add Server. Type in the description of the server (here I labelled it Sticks' Teamspeak) and hit enter.
3) After you give it a name, now you can enter in information. The server address is 71.246.232.129. You can enter whatever you want for your nickname in the Nickname: box. Go ahead and select the Anonymous option. The Registered option is for admin users so that when they log in, the server is able to recognize them and give them permissions for various actions.
4) Now you see that you have connected to the server and you're sitting in the Default channel. Congrats! The next step is to set up a few options.
5) Click on the Settings menu and then Sound Input/Output Settings to set your sensitivity or hot key for push to talk.
Here you see I have the Voice Activation option selected which means that when my voice hits a certain sound level, it will send it to all players. Use the slider bar right below to determine the right level to use. To help you do this, hit the Activate local test mode button below. The light will turn green when you are transmitting to other players and will let you hear how you sound to them as well.
6) Something that you might've noticed in Ventrilo is that there is a normal latency between when you say something and when one of your teammates hears it. With Teamspeak, you are able to control that a little bit.
Hit the Settings menu and then Options. The window below pops up. Set the slider bar in the middle all the way to the left. This will result in your voice being heard a lot quicker but it will degrade the sound quality. Not so much that you can't understand someone, but enough to be noticable if you move the slider all the way to the right.
